Celebrating Women’s Leadership: International Women’s Day
On March 8th, Women’s Day, FFEC organized a powerful event, bringing together inspiring role models who shared their work in advocating for systemic change, breaking gender norms, and fighting for equal rights. Arfa Khanum, renowned journalist from India, and Huma Abidi, former Senior Director of AI Software Products at Intel Corp, joined us for this special occasion! We heard Arfa Khanum speak about her personal journey and the significance of FFEC’s work in empowering communities, and gained insights from Huma Abidi on breaking barriers in technology and leadership. We also celebrated the unique empowerment journeys of our community women and young girl leaders, recognizing that while their paths may differ based on background and life stage, they remain united by a shared mission of justice and equality.

“Gulnaar’s Triumph: From Malnutrition to a Healthy Future for Her Daughter”
At Project Buniyaad, we believe the first 1,000 days of a child’s life are crucial for lifelong health. Our goal is to prevent chronic malnutrition and empower mothers with knowledge and practical skills to ensure their children grow strong and healthy.
Gulnaar, a dedicated mother and an active participant in Project Buniyaad, experienced a transformative journey. Her six-month-old daughter, Dua, faced the risk of malnutrition, falling into the yellow zone on the growth chart. Determined to turn things around, Gulnaar attended our interactive workshops, where she learned the importance of balanced diets, proper feeding practices, and hygiene. With newfound confidence, she began preparing nutritious meals that supported Dua’s recovery.
Today, Dua proudly stands in the green zone — a symbol of her improved health. Our MindUp Managers provided continuous support, conducting hands-on sessions in cooking, complementary feeding, and fitness. HMF’s digital solution further facilitated real-time tracking of Dua’s progress, ensuring timely interventions when needed.
Gulnaar’s story is a testament to how informed care and community support can pave the way for healthier futures. We celebrate her strength and commitment to her daughter’s well-being.
Empowering Adolescent and Young Girls Through Health Education
Empowering adolescent and young girls is key to breaking the cycle of malnutrition. Project Buniyaad extends its support to young women aged 13 to 25, offering engaging workshops that cover vital topics like menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, and nutrition. After all, why wait until pregnancy to prioritize health when early intervention can build a stronger foundation for lifelong well-being? Even the World Health Organization (WHO) emphasizes the importance of early health education to prevent malnutrition and promote overall well-being.
We understand that young girls enjoy their snacks, so why not make them both delicious and nutritious? Through these workshops, we’re also breaking the mindset that healthy food means tasteless food. By creating meals that are both enjoyable and nourishing, we’re proving that good nutrition can be a delight.
8 New Yuva Leaders Championing Children’s Right to Education
Empowered by passion and purpose, eight dynamic youth leaders (five female and three male) have stepped up to champion the right to education in their communities. FFEC’s leadership training equipped them with skills in RTE, field data collection, problem-solving,adaptability and legal documentation like Adhar card, birth certificate. Through a comprehensive survey in Ambedkar Camp and Chilla Village, urban slum of delhi, they identified 178 children aged 5 to 14 years (95 girls and 83 boys) who had never being to school/dropped out of school, due to barriers like financial hardship, lack of resources, and social constraints.
Coming April, these youth leaders will lead the way in facilitating school admissions, ensuring that every child has a chance to learn and thrive. Their dedication exemplifies the spirit of community-driven change.

Launched Project Pehchan: Access to Entitlements Through Legal Identities
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Project Pehchan, an initiative dedicated to facilitating legal identities and ensuring access to government social protection schemes for marginalized communities in Trilokpuri. Many families, including migrants from states like UP, Bihar, and West Bengal, often lack essential documents like Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, and bank accounts, limiting their access to educational and welfare services.
Project Pehchan bridges this gap by identifying beneficiaries, providing assistance in obtaining legal identities, and raising awareness about available government schemes. With a goal to support 300 individuals in acquiring legal documents and to reach 500 beneficiaries for scheme
awareness, the project is set to make a tangible difference in the lives of children, youth, and families. By empowering communities through knowledge and support, Project Pehchan ensures that no one is left behind.
Celebrated Republic Day with Pride
